PLANT DIARY (2003)

Plant Diary is the first nature documentary filmed in Korea. Plant Diary tells us stories about 10 extinct flowers and about 250 Korean wild flowers in Baekdusan. It took Kim Jung Myung 8 years to film this documentary.

Part I depicts Chonji in the spring and the flowers around it. The first part tells us the stories of:
1) a fur coat of plants;
2) sun block cream for plants;
3) tiny little flowers;
4) What is the real flower?
5) color-changing flower like a chameleon;
6) guide posts inside flowers for insects;
7) insect-shaped flowers; and
8) secrets of herbs.

Part II depicts the fierce survival of fragile wild flowers in the windy climate with long winters at 2500 m elevation. There is nothing more peaceful than the dewy wild flowers after a storm in Baekdusan. The second part tells us stories of:
1) the flower that is an air flow meter;
2) flowers that survive thunder storms;
3) the secrets of flowers on a cliff;
4) streamline shaped flowers;
5) Why do the plants have different length roots according to the elevation?
6) the fog, jewelry made by God;
7) water plants;
8) the secret of white leaves; and
9) plants¡¯ dispute over the territories.
